2021 Assurance Internship

We are in search of intern candidates to join the Assurance team in Spring or Summer 2021. The ideal candidate will possess strong client service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work comfortably with all levels throughout the company. With plenty of training alongside a full coaching and mentoring program, the candidate in this position will be set up for success as an audit professional at the close of the internship.
 
Essential functions of this position include:
  • Effectively communicates with client to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to client.
  • Working with a variety of assignments across multiple client industries.
  • Reconciling client revenues and expenses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Compiling and analyzing financial transactions to ensure they match provided records.
  • Identifying discrepancies of financial statements provided by the client.
  • Becoming familiar with the firm’s policies and procedures. 
  • Performing other accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Ideal requirements for this role include:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in Accounting or related field, last year preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Maturity, integrity, and a positive attitude in the performance of responsibilities. 


2021 RAAS Internship

Our Risk Assurance and Advisory Services (RAAS) team is seeking an intern for Summer 2021. The intern will actively participate in all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients. 
 
Essential functions of this position include:
  • Execute testing procedures associated with System & Organizational Control (SOC) examinations for clients in various industries including SOC 1 and SOC 2 attestation reports under SSAE 18.
  • Assist clients with internal control and cybersecurity assessments such as Sarbanes Oxley 404, HIPAA Security, FISMA, and IT and operational audit projects.
  • Assist with financial, operational, and IT risk assessments in support of clients’ overall enterprise risk management efforts.
  • Begin to develop relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
  • Work with senior team members to identify value-added process improvement opportunities during the execution of engagements.
  • Assist senior team members on proposals and business development calls as needed. 
  • Begin to develop understanding of Windham Brannon and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. 
  • Develop foundational knowledge related to Risk Assurance & Advisory Services capabilities and associated industry knowledge. 

Ideal requirements for this role include:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in IT, Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant discipline. Last year preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Aspires to hold relevant professional certifications including, but not limited to: CISA, CIA, PMP, CISSP, or CPA.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Exposure to analytical techniques and tools. 


2021 Tax Internship

We are in search of intern candidates to join the Tax team in Spring 2021. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work comfortably with all levels throughout the company. With a full two-weeks of hands-on and guided training, the candidate in this position will be set up for success as a tax professional at the end of the internship.
 
Essential functions of this position include:
  • Preparing individual and business tax returns including 1040s and 1065s.
  • Entering and/or reviewing client data.
  • Creation of quality work product by following the firm’s processes and procedures.
  • Working on a variety of client engagements in a variety of industries.
  • Becoming knowledgeable of computer software used in the Tax department including CCH Prosystems, iChannel, XCM, Sharefile, and Sureprep.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.

Ideal requirements for this role include:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in Accounting or related field, last year preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
