Responsibilities

SGA Senior

Windham Brannon is seeking a highly motivated Strategic Growth Advisory (SGA) Senior. The SGA Senior is responsible for delivering a full range of services, including, but not limited to, high level strategy work as well as foundational accounting and reporting issues. Tasks include balance sheet reconciliation, production of monthly financial reports, assisting clients with audit preparation, mergers and acquisition project support and other special projects. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Assisting clients with month-end close
  • Working directly with clients to assess their accounting needs
  • Supporting general accounting functions as needed; strong knowledge of Excel required
  • Working with external auditors to assist our clients getting through an audit
  • Assisting with special projects
  • Traveling to clients sites, which include client interfaces (25-30% per month)
 
 Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years general accounting experience, past audit experience is a positive
  • Experience in data mining (SQL, Access, etc.)
  • Mergers & Acquisitions and Due Diligence experience is positive
  • CPA License preferred
  • Organized with strong time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software(s) with intermediate PC skills (Excel)
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Record of good judgment and ability to know when to escalate issues
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload


Transaction Advisory Manager

Due to our rapid growth and success in providing financial due diligence services to both strategic and financial buyers, we currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our Transaction Advisory Services. Join a team of dedicated transaction specialists that advise private equity funds, middle market companies and large corporations with middle market transactions. Apply your tax, accounting and financial expertise to guide clients through every stage of the transaction lifecycle, from pre-transaction strategy through post-transaction value realization. 

You will work with clients across the nation and internationally in industries including manufacturing, distribution, technology, professional services and health care. The successful candidate will work on both buy and sell-side M&A transactions and is the ideal role for a someone working in a nationally recognized transaction advisory services firm who wants to broaden their industry exposure.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, direct and complete financial/accounting due diligence for private equity and strategic buyers and sellers from a variety of industries.
  • Develop relationships with clients and engage in effective interactions with target company executives
  • Compiling and analyzing historical financial data/financial statements provided by buyer and/or seller as well as conducting interviews with buyer or seller
  • Preparing reports on the quality of the client or selling company earnings (Quality of Earnings/normalized EBITDA) by highlighting significant business profitability trends and overly aggressive accounting policies
  • Supervise staff of professionals from different experience backgrounds and provide performance review feedback
  • Assist Partners on proposals and new business opportunities by drafting responses, participating in the proposal process, building client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of client business and communicating directly with the buyer and seller.
  • Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and cross-sell services.
  • Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence
  • Strong current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills
  • Continuously fostering relationships with coworkers (through all services lines of Windham Brannon) and clients (both strategics and private equity)
  • Participating in a work environment that values and promotes camaraderie, collaboration and giving back to the community

 Education and years of experienced targeted include:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance
  • MBA in Finance or equivalent
  • CPA certification a plus
  • Experience within a nationally recognized Transaction Advisory Practice
  • Ability to travel 30% - 40% of the time
 
In addition, the skills needed include:
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with detailed knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence. Problem solving is essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as report writing is required to serve TAS clients.
  • The ability to conduct detailed analysis (using external information) on products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
  • Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications. Especially advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.
  • A strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis and the ability to link business strategy to performance and due diligence findings.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs
  • Prior experience building financial budgets and decision models 


Assurance Senior

Windham Brannon is seeking a highly motivated Assurance Senior professional to join our growing firm.
 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk reviews and various on-site audits.
  • Conduct research in order to determine billing and reimbursement compliance. 
  • Conduct all phases of the audit including planning and research, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting of findings, and other procedures as required. 
  • Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations associated to each specific audit type prior to performing the audit. 
  • Prepare working papers to document scope and findings of audit in accordance with government program regulations and AICPA standards. 
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement. 
  • Maintain thorough electronic documentation.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Generally, a Senior will have passed all sections of the CPA or other professional certification examination and possess a minimum of 3-5 years experience and demonstrated excellence in public accounting or possess equivalent professional accomplishments and specialized knowledge/abilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong comprehension of GAAP and GAAS. The length of time an Audit Senior will spend at this level will vary depending on individual development.
 
 

Senior Service Auditor (SOC)

Windham Brannon is seeking an experience SOC Senior to join our Risk Assurance & Advisory Services (RAAS) team. 
 
Necessary Skills and Background
  • Experience with planning, executing, and reporting on the results of Systems & Organizational Control (SOC) examinations (SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3) for clients in various industries.
  • Experience in a “service auditor” role at a public accounting firm issuing SOC examination reports.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional services environment, specifically a public accounting or consulting firm. Experience must include responsibility for the preparation and review of written status reports and project deliverables. 

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with internal control assessments such as Cybersecurity, HIPAA Security, and IT and operational audit projects.
  • Facilitate IT, cybersecurity, and operational risk assessments in support of clients' overall enterprise risk management efforts.
  • Establish and manage relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels and assist in the planning and execution of engagements.
  • Assist principals and senior management on proposals and business development calls as needed.
  • Understand Windham Brannon and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients.
  • Remain current on new developments in Risk Assurance & Advisory Services capabilities and industry knowledge.
 
Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Cybersecurity, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Holds relevant professional certifications including, but not limited to: CISA, CIA, PMP, CISSP, or CPA.
  • Familiarity with various security framework such as Trust Services Criteria, SAN CIS Critical Security Controls, NIST, and others.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Seasonal HNW Tax Manager

Added experience in preparation and review of gift and trust tax returns would be beneficial.   • Applies the theory and principles of accounting as well as the objectives, standards & procedures of auditing to client situations.
  • Develops insight into clients' systems, procedures, overall business operations and industries and utilizes this knowledge in audit work.
  • Contributes to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan and manage engagements and people along with ensuring deliverables meet work plan specifications and deadlines.
  • Meets the standards of technical quality as established in current AICPA and FASB pronouncements. Keeps informed of current technical developments and pending matters important to our profession and clients.
  • Plans, organizes, delegates, and controls work so assignments are completed in a reasonable time and in a form suitable for review.
  • Handles more complex audit areas & reviews.
 

We are in search of a candidate with 2-4 years of experience with demonstrated excellence in public accounting or that possesses equivalent professional accomplishments and specialized knowledge/abilities. CPA in progress or all sections passed preferred.
